AT FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH...
...our purpose is to bring glory to God through a great commitment to the great commandment and the great commission leading to the development of a great community.
The Great Commandment
Worship is passionately expressing love and devotion to God.
Service is selflessly giving others what God has given us.
The Great Commission
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very
end of the age.”
Evangelism is urgently inviting sinners into God's grace.
Discipleship is diligently following Christ.
A Great Community
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper*), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity*—all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42-47--NIV)
Community is authentically sharing life together.
First Christian Church exists to bring glory to God through a great commitment to the great commandment and the great commission leading to the development of a great community.
